Tahitian pearls are cultured pearls produced by the Pinctada margaritifera pearl oyster and are prized for their naturally dark body colors and varied overtones. Larimar is the blue variety of pectolite, best known from deposits in the Dominican Republic. Its white and blue patterns naturally vary from stone to stone.
