MOKUBA cord gives the pendant a fine, discreet line. Leather, offered as an alternative, adds a different texture and feel. Both preserve the spirit of the necklace, but they require different care.

The MOKUBA cord can be worn while swimming. After the sea or pool, rinse it with fresh water and let it air-dry naturally. To preserve the pearl and construction for longer, we still recommend removing the necklace before exercise, showering and sleeping. If you choose leather, avoid swimming and prolonged immersion.

Before storing your necklace, gently wipe the pearl, the leather and the cord with a soft, dry cloth. This removes perspiration, cosmetics and other residues that may affect the materials over time, even while the piece remains in its jewelry box. Store it separately from other jewelry to limit friction.

How large is the pearl?

The Tahitian pearl measures approximately 12 mm. S, M and L refer to neck size, not pearl diameter.

What are the pearl’s shape and quality?

The pearl is drop-shaped and BC quality: a few slight imperfections and beautiful luster.

Which cord do you use?

A 1.5 mm MOKUBA polyester cord reinforced with an inner nylon thread, offered in brown or black. Highly durable, it is suitable for daily wear and swimming, with the care precautions described below.

Can I choose leather?

Yes, leather is offered in brown, black or beige. It gives a different texture and requires more care around moisture.

How do I choose the necklace size?

Select S for a slim neck, M for a regular neck or L for a wide neck. Sliding knots then let you refine the length; an estimate of neck size is enough.

Can it be adapted for different recipients?

The selector offers baby, child, woman or man. Choose the recipient and a size suited to their build to adapt the construction.

Can I choose another pearl shade?

Direct choices concern the cord or leather, neck size and recipient. A preferred shade or another pearl diameter can be requested through “Fully customize this necklace” for the team to review.

Will the pearl look exactly like the photograph?

The photograph shows an example of the design. Shades, overtones and surface details can vary between cultured pearls.

How should I store my necklace?

Before storing your necklace, gently wipe the pearl, the leather and the cord with a soft, dry cloth. Can I wear it every day?

Yes, with the MOKUBA cord version. After swimming in the sea or a pool, rinse the jewelry with fresh water and let it dry naturally. To help preserve the pearl, limit prolonged exposure to salt and chlorine. Remove the leather version before swimming.

Can I keep it on in the shower?

We recommend removing both MOKUBA and leather versions to protect the pearl and cord from soaps, shampoos and repeated immersion.

Can I sleep or exercise while wearing it?

It is best to remove it to limit perspiration, friction and tension on the cord and pearl.

How do I care for dry leather?

Lightly condition the leather with a very small amount of suitable oil or shea butter, applied to the cord only. Remove any excess with a soft cloth and avoid deposits on the pearl.

How long does MOKUBA cord last?

For daily wear, its life is generally around three years depending on use. This is an indication rather than a fixed lifespan; the cord can be replaced when it shows wear.

What if the cord wears out or breaks?

Our workshop can replace the cord or work on the leather while preserving the pearl. Request the sending instructions before shipping the necklace.
