Double-drop leather earrings with Tahitian pearls

The four baroque Tahitian cultured pearls are suspended on leather. The reference version includes yellow gold hooks and 18K gold-plated beads. Sterling silver and plated hook finishes are offered separately in the selector. The kangaroo leather is hand-rolled by our team.

For over fifteen years, Kalinas & Tainos has been designing and assembling customizable jewelry in Saint-Barthélemy, combining Tahitian, South Sea, freshwater, and Akoya cultured pearls, rare conch pearls, gemstones, ancient coins, kangaroo leather, sterling silver 925, and gold. Each creation is designed to reveal the unique character of these materials through an elegant, timeless style deeply inspired by the art of living in Saint-Barthélemy.

More than a piece of jewelry, Kalinas & Tainos seeks to convey an emotion, a travel memory, and a lasting connection to Saint-Barth. Each creation is designed to accompany its wearer through the years and stand the test of time, like the memory of a precious moment.

Before storage, gently wipe the pearls, leather and metal elements with a soft, dry cloth. Perspiration, cosmetics and other deposits can damage them over time, even in a jewelry box. Avoid perfume, household cleaners, impacts and friction. Remove the jewelry for showering, swimming, sport and sleep. After accidental contact with moisture, let it dry naturally away from heat, then store it separately.

After an unexpected swim, gently rinse with fresh water without soaking, then let the earrings dry naturally before storing them.

What does the €650 price include?

It includes the pair, its 4 Tahitian pearls, yellow gold hooks and 18K gold-plated beads. Removing the beads deducts €60. Silver hooks deduct €65, while yellow or rose gold-plated hooks deduct €35. These adjustments are cumulative.

What does the selected length mean?

It is the overall length of the earring, including the fitting. The 6 cm length is preselected to match the photos; the two drops remain staggered.

Will I receive the piece in the photos?

The construction and composition follow the selected design and chosen options. Natural materials may vary slightly in shade and outline. Other jewelry shown in styling combinations is not included.

What should I do before storing it?

Gently wipe the pearls, leather and metal elements with a soft, dry cloth to remove perspiration and cosmetic residue, which can damage the materials over time, even in a jewelry box. Store the piece dry and protected from friction.

Where do the gold-plated beads come from, and what is their quality?

We have worked for several years with a foundry in Provence, France. Its 18K gold plating meets the requirements of our designs and is suited to normal jewelry wear. The beads can tolerate contact with water, including during a shower or a swim in the sea; after swimming, they should be rinsed with fresh water. The beads’ resistance does not replace the care needed for the leather and pearls.

How can I preserve the gold plating, pearls and leather?

To preserve the earrings as a whole, we recommend removing them before showering, swimming, sport and sleep. Perspiration and repeated friction can dull the gold plating and pearls and dry out the leather. After an unexpected swim, gently rinse with fresh water without soaking, then let the earrings dry naturally away from heat. Avoid abrasive products and gently wipe the jewelry before storing it.
