After wear and before storage, gently wipe the pearls, the leather and the metal with a soft, dry cloth. This removes perspiration, cosmetics and other residues that can damage the materials over time, even while the piece is kept in its jewelry box. If the leather becomes damp, allow it to air-dry naturally away from direct heat. Store the jewelry separately to reduce friction.
